Segafredo Virtus Bologna CEO, Luca Baraldi told Corriere dello Sport that his team feels like the best of Italy’s top-tier division, LBA Serie A. No champion will be named as clarified by Italian Basketball Federation president Gianni Petrucci upon canceling the 2019-20 season, in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
“Doctors and nurses really deserve the title of the champion,” said Baraldi, “Morally we feel we are the best in the league, we will celebrate with fans whenever possible.”
Virtus Bologna held first place in the standings up to the last games played. Its 18-2 W-L tally had the club three wins ahead of second-placed Dinamo Sassari.
