Olimpia Milano overcomes double-digit deficit to beat Trento, Virtus Bologna dominates Venice

Olimpia Milano has been struggling this season, being on the brink of elimination in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and recording surprising eight losses in the Italian Legabasket.

However, Ettore Messina’s side is improving as the season progresses, notching its third straight domestic win after a comeback over Trento, improving to 18-8 with a final score of 91-86.

Olimpia Milano trailed by 14 points in the first period and was eight points behind before the break (44-52). The reigning champions briefly turned the score over in the third period but were left trailing after 30 minutes. They finally took control midway through the decisive period and won after a fourth-quarter comeback.

Nicolo Melli led the winning side with 16 points and six rebounds, while Nikola Mirotic followed with 15 points and six rebounds. Shabazz Napier scored 15 points, Devon Hall added 14, and Kyle Hines was one rebound shy of a double-double with 12 points.

Kamar Baldwin stood out with 24 points for the visiting team, while Davide Alviti added 16, Paul Biligha 11, and Matt Mooney 10 points.

Virtus Bologna also emerged victorious, convincingly defeating Reyer Venice on the road with a final score of 70- 89.

Toko Shengelia led the scoring for the winning side with 16 points, but Ante Zizic stole the show, being on the verge of a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds. Daniel Hackett and Iffe Lundberg added 12 points each as Virtus improved to 18-8.

Max Heidegger scored 16 points for Venice, while Mfiondu Kabengele, Jordan Parks, Aamir Simms, and Rayjon Tucker each added 10 points.
