Milan takes a 1-0 lead in the Lega quarterfinals. Poeta’s men comfortably defeated Reggio Emilia (96-84) to start the playoffs with a victory.
Shavon Shields (19 points) and Ousmane Diop (14 points) were the team’s top scorers. Zach Leday added 13 points.
It was a very easy first half for Olimpia Milano. With Shavon Shields leading the charge, Poeta’s men went into halftime with a comfortable lead (57-40).
Although Reggio Emilia fought back in the third quarter (18-24), Milan controlled the end of the game to secure the victory at home (96-84) and start the Playoffs with a win.
The regular season leader, Virtus Bologna, will begin the playoffs on Sunday against Trento.
