Reggio Emilia combo guard and EuroCup standout Amedeo Della Valle announced that he won’t be playing with Reggio Emilia next season, saying that he will take a “different path.”

“On June 30 my contract with the club expires and I will take a different path. I know it won’t be easy for many to see me wear another jersey but I hope you will be able to appreciate my person all the same. Friendships are born that will last a lifetime and I have experienced crazy moments. We filled streets and united a city for years,” Della Valle wrote on his official Facebook page.

In today’s edition of Gazzetta Dello Sport, Olimpia Milano president Livio Prolli characterized the case of the Italian player as “interesting”, when asked about him and Serbian guard Nemanja Nedovic potentially joining the team next season.

Della Valle, 25, had a breakout season in which he averaged 17.5 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 3.1 assists in EuroCup to lead Reggio Emilia to the competition’s semifinals for the first time in the history of the franchise. He earned All First-Team honors in the process.
