Joe Ingles: “It feels like it’s a less and less chance to return”

The basketball lockdown practically started on a global level in the game between Oklahoma City Thunder and the Utah Jazz, which never started. Joe Ingles was there with the rest of the Jazz when the test of their teammate Rudy Gobert turned out to be positive.

Since then, a month and a half later, the usually light-spirited Australian forward is not so optimistic about the chance of seeing NBA basketball anytime soon.

“I think originally when we were in OKC, I assumed we would be in this two-week quarantine and then we’ll be back like it will be two or three weeks, then we’ll be back playing. Obviously, that was very early on, and I probably didn’t know as much as we all do now with the whole thing that’s going on,” Ingles told Utah media in a Friday morning videoconference. “But honestly, my personal opinion is every week that we go along, it feels like it’s a less and less chance that we’re going to .”

While there were reports about NBA plans for a possible return to action with all the teams playing in one venue, with a total of 52,400 deaths in the USA and the number steadily rising, basketball and sports, in general, have taken a back seat.
