Anthony Davis banks 42 points against Utah as Lakers clinch No. 1 in the West

After a ‘weak’ 14-point performance against the Raptors, Anthony Davis bounced back with 42 points and 12 rebounds to give the Lakers a 116-108 win over the Jazz.

LeBron James flirted with a triple-double, logging 22 points, nine assists, and eight boards while Dwight Howard scored 11 and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope ten points.

For Utah – which got taken down by a 14-0 run in the third quarter – Donovan Mitchell banked 33 points in addition to Mike Conley’s 24 and Rudy Gobert’s 16 points. The French big also grabbed 13 boards.

A highly effective game that went down to the wire was seen between Philadelphia and San Antonio. Shake Milton was the man of the hour as he banked a go-ahead triple which pushed the Sixers to a 132-130 victory.

He finished with 16 points while Joel Embiid was leading the way with 27 points and nine boards. Tobias Harris was right behind with 25 and Josh Richardson with 19 points. Furkan Korkmaz was solid with 12 points.

New Orleans Pelicans grabbed a very important 109-99 win against the Memphis Grizzlies as they keep the chase for the latter’s eighth spot. They are within three wins at the moment.

Brandon Ingram continued where he left off with 24 points followed by Zion Williamson with 23 and JJ Redick with 16 points.

For Memphis, Jaren Jackson scored 22 in addition to Grayson Allen with 17 and Dillon Brooks with 15 points. Jonas Valanciunas logged another double-double in Orlando with 13 points and 13 boards.
