Russell Westbrook to miss the start of the playoffs

Russell Westbrook is expected to be out for the first few games of next week’s playoff series against the Oklahoma City Thunder and possibly longer, according to Jonathan Feigen of Texas Sports Nation.

Westbrook was ruled out for the final seeding game after waking up sore on Wednesday, a day after returning from the injury, and undergoing an MRI.

Although the Rockets star guard didn’t have any trouble during the game against the Spurs or immediately after, the MRI, however, indicated a strained quadriceps muscle.

Westbrook has been averaging 27.2 points per game while making a career-best 47.2 percent of his shots.
