The NBA announced that Thursday’s (27/8) NBA games have been postponed and that the league hopes that action will be resumed on either Friday or Saturday.

Game 6 of Utah Jazz – Denver Nuggets (3-2) and Los Angeles Clippers – Dallas Mavericks (3-2) were scheduled to be played on Thursday.

NBA Executive Vice President Mike Bass issued the following statement:

“NBA playoff games for today will not be played as scheduled. We are hopeful to resume games either Friday or Saturday. There is a video conference call meeting scheduled later this afternoon between a group of NBA players and team governors representing the 13 teams in Orlando, along with representatives from the National Basketball Players Association and the league office and NBA Labor Relations Committee Chairman Michael Jordan, to discuss next steps.”

On Wednesday (26/8), the Milwaukee Bucks took a decision to boycott Game 5 vs. the Orlando Magic in the aftermath of the shooting of Jacob Blake. The NBA then proceeded to postpone the other two matches that were scheduled to take place on Wednesday.

NBA players in Orlando held meeting in Orlando to discuss how they will proceed for the rest of the season. Eventually, they decided to resume the playoffs.
