Donovan Mitchell and Jamal Murray set a new scoring record in NBA history, by combining 475 points in the playoffs series between the Denver Nuggets and Utah Jazz, that ended Tuesday with Denver advancing to the Western Conference semifinals to face LA Clippers.

Mitchell added 22 points for the Jazz, while Murray posted 17 points for the Nuggets in Game 7.

Murray and Mitchell took the record away from Jerry West and John Havlicek in the 1969 Finals. The two Hall-of-Famers combined for 463 points in that series, 12 fewer than what Murray and Mitchell.

The most recent duo to come close to the numbers the two stars put up in the NBA bubble was Allen Iverson and Vince Carter, who combined 449 points in the 2001 conference semifinals (per HoopsHype).

Following the end of the game, heartbroken Mitchell laid down on the floor, as Murray rushed to console him, a great gesture of true sportsmanship, leaving its own mark just like their historic record.
