Anthony Davis, Lakers rout Nuggets opening 1-0 lead

The Los Angeles Lakers went up 1-0 in the Western Conference finals thanks to the 126-114 victory versus the Denver Nuggets Friday.

Anthony Davis banked a game-high 37 points including 14 in the first quarter getting back to action in the NBA bubble set up in Orlando nearly a week after the conclusion of the Western Conference semifinals series against the Houston Rockets. He also pulled down ten rebounds.

LeBron James also posted a double-double with 15 points and 12 assists to his name. Fellow starter, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope threw in 18 more points. Dwight Howard and Kyle Kuzma combined for 24 off the bench.

Nikola Jokic sat out the fourth quarter with the Lakers in a commanding lead. He went for 21 points, six rebounds, two assists, and one block in 25 minutes. Also sidelined in the final period, Jamal Murray shared a team-high 21 points.

The Nuggets faced a double-digit deficit from the first half. An 11-2 run produced by the Los Angeles organization in the third quarter blew the match open.

Game 2 of the best-of-seven series is scheduled to take place Sunday.
