Kevin Durant still out, new tests next week

Kevin Durant will have another scan on his left hamstring next week, Brooklyn Nets head coach Steve Nash said Wednesday.

Durant, 32, has been sidelined since February 13. Thursday’s home game versus the Boston Celtics, the first after the All-Star Game break, is the tenth in a row he will miss. The medical staff does not believe the current injury is related to the ruptured Achilles suffered in 2019 forcing him to sit out the entire 2019-20 season.

“He hasn’t played in a month,” noted Nash, “So no matter what the scan says, there will still be an appropriate ramp-up time to make sure we put him in a position to finish the season strong.”

Prior to his latest injury, Durant averaged 29.0 points, 7.3 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 1.4 steals, and 0.7 blocks per match. He participated in 19 games.
