Baylor captured its first men’s basketball national title after prevailing over undefeated Gonzaga with an 86-70 victory on Monday at the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

Jared Butler led the way for Baylor with 22 points, MaCio Teague had 19 points and Davion Mitchell posted 15 points, pacing the school to its first men’s basketball title.

Jalen Suggs posted a team-high of 22 points for Gonzaga, but couldn’t help his team keep its perfect streak until the end, as they end their campaign with a 31-1 record. Just on Saturday, the Zags held strong to beat UCLA in overtime to advance to the championship game, and the fatigue looked like it took its toll in the final.
