Luka Doncic scored 46 points, but the Dallas Mavericks lost Game 7 to the Los Angeles Clippers and were eliminated from the NBA Playoffs on Sunday. It was the second season in a row featuring a first-round exit to the Clippers.

Doncic, 22, averaged 34.0 points, 9.7 assists, and 8.0 rebounds per game in the best-of-seven series compared to the 31.0 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 8.7 assists per contest in the Orlando bubble.

“I mean, nothing yet,” he said answering a question regarding his accomplishments in the postseason, “We made the playoffs twice since I’ve been here. We lost both times, so in the end, you get paid to win. So we didn’t do it.”

His side went up 2-0 and then 3-2 in the series, but failed to get the job done. The Slovenian sensation was asked about potential improvements necessary for the next step with the franchise.

“That’s a question you should ask the guys that make decisions, right? I’m just a player here,” he replied, “But we will give everything to play great. We give everything, I’m very proud of this team. Obviously, I hate losing. We hate losing.”

“The playoffs are different from the Regular Season. Game 7 is the toughest game. You have to give everything. It wasn’t the result we wanted. But we will come back next year,” he added looking into the 2021-22 season.
