Frank Ntilikina is likely to move on from Knicks

Frank Ntilikina becomes an unrestricted free agent rather than a restricted free agent. The New York Knicks did not extend a qualifying offer prior to Sunday’s deadline, as reported by the New York Post.

Ntilikina, 23, spent the last four seasons with the Knicks. He can return to New York with a new deal but going in the opposite direction seems the most likely scenario. During his stint, the French guard became the longest-tenured member of the team and made his way to 214 NBA matches.

He is currently with the France national team in Tokyo for the Olympic Games. His side will take on Italy on Tuesday for a ticket to the semifinals.

Meanwhile, the Oklahoma City Thunder has made Ukrainian Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk a restricted free agent, per Michael Scotto of HoopsHype. Also, the Golden State Warriors plan to waive Serbian Alen Smailagic, per Anthony Slater of The Athletic.
