With high-profile NBA players not being vaccinated, including Kyrie Irving and Andrew Wiggins among others, Giannis Antetokounmpo confirmed that he is vaccinated.

The Finals MVP and reigning champion explained that while nobody can be forced to be vaccinated, the choice for him was relatively simple: “I did what’s best for me and my family to stay protected. I’m vaccinated. It was the best decision for me to be safe. I am not a doctor and I don’t know what may happen down the road. But I have kids. I know right now that it’s going to keep my family safe.”

Speaking about his knee, Giannis once more explained that he might need to rest: “There’s no rush for me here. I’m good to go. If I feel pain again, I have to listen to my body.”

Meanwhile, the goal remains the same for him and the Bucks, winning the title. “Are we satisfied? I’m not even close to being satisfied,” he said. “Every NBA player who won a title had this feeling before. I am not good enough, I can’t lead my team to the title. But now we know we can do it and we can do it again. But now I want to be better, I want to do it again. When you win the championship you don’t relax, it’s the opposite”.
