Dame Lillard raps about why he doesn’t want to join a superteam

Damian Lillard was rumored to be wanting out of the Portland Trail Blazers in order to potentially join a team that has some extra star power. He repeatedly shut down those rumors then and now he touched on the subject via music.

Lillard, who has also embarked on a rap career, released a tune that includes some lyrics on his refusal to be paired with other stars, saying that this could become his “Achilles’ heel”. He also made a mention of how he instead chooses a path similar to the one of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Dirk Nowitzki: Two players that won a championship ring with the teams they started their NBA career while not being part of superteams.

This is the video that was uploaded on Reddit:

 Lillard sings:

“Dame Lillard, DeMar DeRozan, Bradley Beal, trill…

Me not wanting to join a super team might end up being my Achilles’ heel…

Hector, I’m on my shield…

Trying to get next to Freak and Dirk on that lonely hill…

Now my goal’s revealed so f–ck you, the reporters thinking my homies squealed”
