The Brooklyn Nets – Portland Trail Blazers upcoming Thursday game has been postponed, per the NBA’s announcement Wednesday. The Nets do not have the required 8 available players to proceed with the game, due to a COVID-19 cases spike in the team as of recently.

Despite the alarming rate of increase in COVID-19 positives, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver stated Tuesday that the league doesn’t have plans to pause the season.

Brooklyn – Portland is the eighth game that has been postponed in the past few days. The Nets are next scheduled to play against the Los Angeles Lakers on Christmas day, though the game is also up in the air.

UPDATE: As reported by The Athletic’s Shams Charania, the Chicago Bulls – Toronto Raptors game has also been suspended. Prior to the league’s announcement, Raptors’ OG Anuoby entered the health and safety protocols. It should be noted that the Raptors already had 7 players in the COVID protocols.
