Sabonis to miss at least five games with bruised knee

Domantas Sabonis has suffered a bruised left knee and will be reevaluated once the team returns from its upcoming five-game road trip, the team announced.

“Sacramento Kings center Domantas Sabonis underwent an MRI of the left knee, revealing no structural damage. Multiple medical professionals confirmed a left knee bone contusion, which was sustained during Sunday’s game vs. Phoenix. Sabonis is expected to make a full recovery and will be reevaluated in 10 days,” the Kings announced.

Sacramento will have four games left upon the knee’s reevaluation on April 2.

The 25-year-old has averaged 18.9 points, 12.3 rebounds, and 5.2 assists in 15 games since he got traded to the Kings. Sacramento acquired him in a package centered around Tyrese Haliburton.

The Kings are 25-48 and in 13th place in the Western Conference, six games out of the final play-in spot.
