Croatian forward Zvonimir Ivisic declares for NBA draft

Zvonimir Ivisic has declared for the 2022 NBA draft, his agent told ESPN.

Ivisic, 18, after turning pro playing for GKK Sibenka during 2019-20 switched to SC Derby averaging 2.5 points and 2.0 rebounds per AdmiralBet ABA League contest this season. With one more game remaining, the Podgorica outfit is set to wrap up its debut campaign in the ABA League at the end of the Regular Season.

Backed by a contribution of 11.9 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks per game over 12 appearances, his side leads Montenegro’s Prva A Liga with a 14-3 W-L tally. Competing at the junior level as well, he is up to 14.6 points per game in the U19 ABA League championship.

Moving from the club to the international level, Ivisic representing Croatia made his way to the 2019 FIBA U16 European championship. His efforts, consisting of 13.3 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks per contest over seven appearances helped his side rank eighth overall.

The promising youngster is projected as a potential second-round pick in this year’s draft, which will be held on 23 June at Barclays Center. According to regulations, early entrants declaring for the first time can remove themselves from consideration until 13 June, ten days before the draft.

Other European talents declaring for this draft include Hugo Benitez, Malcolm Cazalon, Justus Hollatz, Karlo Matkovic, and Ziga Samar. Also on the list is Mega Mozzart’s Nikola Jovic, who is projected to be selected during the first round.
