Joel Embiid will not be traveling with the Philadelphia 76ers to Miami for the first two games against the Heat, according to ESPN.

The Sixers center has to clear concussion protocols and see a doctor midweek on his orbital fracture but there is optimism that he could return for Game 3 or 4 in Philadelphia.

Embiid was already having trouble with the right thumb ligament but was playing through it. He got sidelined after receiving an elbow from Toronto’s Pascal Siakam in Game 6 of the first-round series.

Despite the injury, Embiid managed to deliver 33 points, ten rebounds, three blocks, two steals, and one assist before exiting the court in the fourth quarter.
