Oregon product Tyler Dorsey has a very good chance to receive an offer from the Dallas Mavericks after the recent private workout, according to Eurohoops sources.

Dorsey, 26, last played in the NBA during the 2018-19 season. Appearing in 104 games, all in the Regular Season, he averaged 6.7 points, 2.3 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 0.3 steals, and 0.1 blocks per contest between the Atlanta Hawks and Memphis Grizzlies. After concluding his NCAA career with the Ducks, he was originally selected by the Hawks with the 41st pick of the 2017 NBA draft.

Opting to move his talents across the Atlantic Ocean, he had a two-year stint at Israel powerhouse Maccabi Tel Aviv before joining Olympiacos last August. As a free agent following the end of his one-year contract with the Reds, he had received offers from the Greek side and fellow Turkish Airlines EuroLeague participant Fenerbahce Beko but has put both on hold waiting for the Mavs rather than considering the other potential suitors.

The Pasadena-born Greek international player produced 12.8 points, 2.3 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 0.5 steals, and 0.1 blocks per game in his third EuroLeague campaign and first with Olympiacos. An effective player starting in all 38 contests of the 2021-22 season, he helped his side clinch a berth in the Final Four before eventually settling for fourth place in Belgrade, Serbia.

At the domestic level, Dorsey lifted both the Stoiximan Basket League and Greek Cup trophies. He put up 10.8 points, 2.3 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 0.9 steals, and 0.2 blocks per game in Greece’s league.
