Sasha Vezenkov not traveling to the Summer League

Sasha Vezenkov will not travel to the US and will not meet with the Sacramento Kings management in the Las Vegas Summer. However, this doesn’t mean that he will not take an offer from the Kings and make the jump to the NBA.

Sacramento has the chance to pay him up to $4,1M per season and if they come with such a contract, it would be evident that they really count on him and want him on their rotation.

A more modest offer may also mean that Vezenkov is not a real priority for the Kings and that may bring second thoughts for the player, who feels that he can make the next step in his career and play in the NBA.

The NBA opt-out clause on his contract with Olympiacos expires on the 20th of July, however, the fate of the player is expected to be decided much earlier. Of course, the Greek club after losing Tyler Dorsey to the NBA is eager to learn if Vezenkov will stay with them or not.

Of course, it goes without saying, that if Vezenkov stays with Olympiacos, a new and more lucrative contract is expected to be offered by him by the Greek club, despite the fact that he recently signed an extension until 2024.
