Displaying talents for the fans packing the Saitama Super Arena, the Golden State Warriors prevailed, 96-87, over the Washington Wizards Friday.

After returning to action during the 2022 NBA Summer League, James Wiseman starred in the NBA Japan Games 2022 Presented by Rakuten and Nissan. Scoring 14 points after the break, the 21-year-old center produced a game-high 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds to go along with one assist and one block in 24 minutes.

From there, the spotlight fell on Stephen Curry with his efforts amounting to six points, three rebounds, and two assists in 13 minutes for the Warriors.

The team coached by Steve Kerr ruled out Klay Thompson for both games in Japan. Also sidelined is Israeli forward Deni Avdija. The Wizards forward has been dealing with a groin injury from the 2022 EuroBasket carried over into the training camp.

European action was limited to Latvian Kristaps Porzingis. He was held to 3/10 field goals, including 0/6 from beyond the arc. Seven points, four rebounds, four steals, three assists, and one block in 21 minutes.

The reigning NBA champions dropped a double-digit lead in the first half but bounced back to get the win in the 15th NBA game held in Japan. The 16th is coming up with the Warriors and Wizards to line up for yet another preseason matchup in Saitama Sunday.
