Los Angeles Lakers waive Dwayne Bacon

The dream of getting back to the NBA once again may be gone for Dwayne Bacon, following his release from the Los Angeles Lakers.

Bacon, 27, was waived by the Lakers, the team announced Saturday.

The American shooting guard averaged 14 points and 3.1 rebounds per game with AS Monaco last year in his first EuroLeague experience, earning the opportunity to show off his talent with a training camp deal with Darvin Ham’s team.

The 40th pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, Dwayne Bacon played 207 NBA games between the Charlotte Hornets and the Orlando Magic. He had 7.3 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game during his first – and maybe last – NBA run.

Dwayne Bacon is now a free agent and could possibly come back to Europe, even though most EuroLeague teams didn’t make an offer for him this offseason. His sights were set on the NBA.
