Milwaukee Bucks guard Khris Middleton could be making his 2022-23 season debut against the Los Angeles Lakers Friday (2/12) at home according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania.

Middleton has been out since he suffered an MCL sprain in Game 2 of the first-round series vs. the Chicago Bulls last April. He was forced to sit out the rest of the playoffs while then reigning champions Bucks were eliminated 4-3 by the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference semifinals.

In July he underwent surgery to repair a torn ligament on his left wrist and the rehabilitation kept him sidelined in the current campaign so far.

In the 2021-22 regular season, Middleton averaged 20.1 points, a career-high-tying 5.4 assists and 5.4 rebounds, being the team’s second-highest scorer behind Giannis Antetokounmpo.

The Bucks are currently second in the Eastern Conference standings with a 14-5 record after two straight wins over the Cleveland and the Dallas Mavericks. They will look to extend their streak at the New York Knicks Wednesday (30/11) before hosting the Lakers with likely Middleton on board.
