The No. 1 pick in the 2021 NBA draft, Cade Cunningham, plans to undergo season-ending surgery on his left shin and is expected to miss the rest of the season, as ESPN reports.

The Detroit Pistons guard consulted with multiple doctors after being sidelined since November 9. He decided on a procedure and should recover for the training camp ahead of the 2023-24 season.

He tried rehabilitation and rest but eventually went for surgery. Cunningham played in 12 games for the Pistons before an injury occurred, averaging 19,9 points.
