Delivering brilliantly on the court often translates to honest postgame reactions. That was the case once more for Giannis Antetokounmpo in the aftermath of the 50-point effort lifting the Milwaukee Bucks to the home win against the New Orleans Pelicans Sunday night.

Antetokounmpo, 28, also pulled down 13 rebounds and dished out four assists over 30 minutes of action in the latest edition of NBA Sundays. Downplaying the impressive display, the Freak expressed doubts about his kids opting to skip a video with his highlights in the future. “They might say, ‘Daddy, you’re boring. You’re lame. We don’t want to see your highlights. We’ve heard so much about you. We want to watch Scooby-Doo’ or whatever the case might be,” he said.

“I’m just going to keep creating the way people in the past created, the way I can go back and watch Magic Johnson highlights, Kevin Garnett highlights, Kobe Bryant highlights, Allen Iverson highlights, KD’s, LeBron’s. They’ve created so much art throughout the years, and we can go back and see it and admire what they did. Tim Duncan,” explained the 2021 NBA champion and two-time season MVP.

The Bucks leader additionally commented on aggressively seeking the 50-point mark from beyond the arc late in the game versus the slumping and undermanned Pelicans.

“I knew that if I was able to get the rebound, I was going to shoot,” he said, “It doesn’t always work out, but tonight it did. I didn’t hesitate at all. I was able to get my legs under my shot. Stayed there and just watched the ball go in. It’s one of those moments you can never take for granted because you never know when you’re going to have those moments again.”

“Just everything he did, his aggressiveness. A couple of threes, especially late. But he’s shooting it well,” mentioned head coach Mike Budenholzer, “Feels like a few more catch and shoots is something if we can generate a few of those for him and build the confidence in that area, keep getting to the free throw line and working on that, those are areas where he’s improving.”
