Giannis Antetokounmpo wants to set the path for the next generation

Los Angeles, CA – The Milwaukee Bucks won their 10th straight game, beating the Los Angeles Clippers 119-106. As expected, Giannis Antetokounmpo played a huge part in this victory, scoring 35 points with 8 rebounds and 6 assists.

After the victory, the 2x NBA MVP spoke about the role of International players in the USA and playing at the highest level also to set the path for the upcoming generation of talents who will land in the NBA from Europe or the rest of the world.

“Guys can now come to compete, can win games, and carry teams, as franchise players. I feel like when I came in 10 years it was kinda hard. You only saw Dirk, but know we are way more. From Luka, Jokic, Embiid, Siakam, me, Gobert, both of the Bogdanovic… you see that guys are stepping up, helping their teams win”, he said about the tone of International players who are shining in the NBA.

It has been a long-time process, but nowadays you are seeing the fruits of the work done by International players who wrote the history of the NBA. “People before setting the path for us. Manu Ginobili, Tony Parker, Pau Gasol, Toni Kukoc, Drazen Petrovic, Hakeem, Sabonis… and I can just keep going all day”, Giannis Antetokounmpo added.

“We have to set the path for the next generation, people from overseas who come to the NBA, and who can be that guy, who can be the face of the NBA, you can carry your team into the playoffs. I’m happy I can be one of those examples for the next generation and for kids who come from overseas”, the Milwaukee Bucks leader finally stated about his goal for the future.
