The Jordan Rising Stars participant, lacking direct experience in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, Franz Wagner used his further experience to talk about the level of play in Europe’s premier club continental competition.

Wagner, 21, logged 22 appearances in the 2018-19 edition of the 7DAYS EuroCup before switching from ALBA Berlin to Michigan, and from the NCAA experience to the Orlando Magic as the 8th pick of the 2021 NBA draft. Last summer, he faced plenty of EuroLeague stars representing Germany in the 2022 EuroBasket and capturing a bronze medal as a reward for his efforts.

“I think the level is super, super high. The skillset is extremely high,” he mentioned following the Jordan Rising Stars to comment on EuroLeague.

“The NBA rules give more athletic, more quick players a big advantage,” added Wagner regarding the different rules between the NBA and EuroLeague.

On the team selected by Deron Williams, the German forward recorded three rebounds over nine minutes in the semifinal loss to Team Pau in Vivint Arena Friday.
