Jokic breaks Chamberlain’s record as the Nuggets sweep the Lakers

LeBron James had twice the chance to tie the game in the closing seconds, but first, he missed and then he was blocked by Aaron Gordon.

On the other side, Nikola Jokić notched his third triple-double in the Western Conference finals on the way to a 113-111 win on the road for the Nuggets over the Lakers and a 4-0 sweep.

Denver is in the Finals and the Serb big man had 30 points, 14 rebounds, and 13 assists.

Jokic made NBA history by securing his eighth playoff triple-double, the most ever in a single postseason, and breaking a 56-year-old record held by NBA legend Wilt Chamberlain, who logged seven triple-doubles with the 76ers in the 1966–67 postseason.

For the Lakers, LeBron had 40 points, 10 rebounds, and nine assists, while German guard Dennis Schroder who started the game, finished up with 13 points.

The Nuggets are waiting for their opponent from the East, where the Heat have a 3-0 lead over the Celtics.
