After not particularly shining in his debut, Victor Wembanyama dominated in his second game with 27 points and 12 rebounds against the Portland Trail Blazers. However, as Mike Finger from the San Antonio Express reported, that will be the extent of the French wunderkind’s Summer League appearances.

The first pick in the latest NBA draft will sit out the remainder of the Summer League, as the plan all along was for him to play only two games.

The San Antonio Spurs wanted him to get a taste of the NBA, observed what they wanted to see, and are now giving him a break after a busy 12 months.

As I’m not playing in the World Cup, I have 2-3 great months. They will change my life. I will probably disappear from the media for the next months, honestly,” Wembanyama said after his last Summer League game against Portland.
