Just before the tip-off of the new season, the Memphis Grizzlies announced they exercised the 2024/25 rookie scale contract option on Spanish national team player Santi Aldama.

They also exercised options for Ziaire Williams, Jake LaRavia, and David Roddy.

Aldama will therefore complete his rookie contract, earning 2.2 million dollars next year and 3.9 million dollars in the 2024/25 season.

After that, he will become an unrestricted free agent, with the Grizzlies having the right to match any proposals that may come in for the Spanish international.

So far, Aldama has competed in 109 games since Memphis acquired him with the 30th overall pick in the 2021 NBA draft, and has averaged 7.6 points with 4.2 rebounds, spending approximately 21.8 minutes on the court. Last season, he started in 20 matches and averaged nine points with 4.8 rebounds.
