Coach Rajakovic’s Toronto beats the Spurs, KD scored 41 in Detroit

Serb coach Darko Rajaković faced a coaching icon in Gregg Popovich and ultimately he got the road win with Toronto against the Spurs after overtime. The final score was 123-116 as the Raptors dominated the extra five minutes and Victor Wembanyama.

The French rookie did a bit of everything with 20 points, nine rebounds, four assists and five blocks, but couldn’t save the day.

German World Champion Dennis Schroder scored 24 for Toronto plus registered six assists and two steals, Britain’s OG Anunoby added 24 points and had also seven rebounds and four assists, while Austrian big man Jakob Poelt contributed 16 points, 10 rebounds and three steals.

Scottie Barnes with 30 points was the top scorer of the winning side.

Polish big man Jeremy Sochan added four points, four rebounds and four assists for the Spurs, which also got seven points, four rebounds and three assists by Turkish forward Cedi Osman.

However, once more Wembanyama stole the show.

Earlier, the Suns (3-4) beat the Pistons (2-5) on the road 120-106 with Kevin Durant scoring 41 points. Bosnian center Jusuf Nurkic added six points, four rebounds and seven assists for the winning side, plus two steals and two blocks.

Detroit had once again Killian Hayes as the starting point guard with 13 points and five assists, while fellow Frenchman Malcolm Cazalon stepped on the court for three minutes of action.
