“Every team needs some people they need to rely on”, Victor Wembanyama said in the post-game press conference following the victory against Indiana.

In San Antonio’s case, he’s perfectly conscious to be the one Spurs have to rely on, and he once again demonstrated against the Pacers with a double-double of 31 points and 12 rebounds.

He also added 6 assists and 6 blocks, shooting 11/17 FG and 6/7 FT. “Sometimes it’s the coach or the players, but of course for me, there’s no way to lose my composure or even send a negative image to my teammates. I keep that to myself”, he also commented.

The No.1 pick in the 2023 NBA Draft was assisted by his Polish teammate Jeremy Sochan, who contributed with 12 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists in San Antonio’s win.

Victor Wembanyama was also praised by Indiana’s leader Tyrese Haliburton in the aftermath. “He’s gotten a lot better. His confidence is growing. He’s playing really well”, the American star commented.
