The Orlando Magic lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 7 of the NBA Playoffs, and Franz Wagner didn’t deliver.

The German international scored six points on 1/15 shooting from the field, marking the worst FG percentage in Game 7 history. However, Wagner was one of the best Orlando players throughout the season, and that’s why Paolo Banchero backed him up after a disappointing performance.

We’re not here without Franz. He holds himself to a high standard and expects much of himself as a player. I’ve also been in that position where you felt like you could’ve done much more in a losing effort, but this doesn’t define him,” Banchero said.

Banchero scored 38 points with 16 rebounds in the decisive game, but it wasn’t enough. Despite everything, he’s proud of his team’s effort.

After the first game, people were like, I don’t know if they’re ready. Coming back the way we did shows where we’re headed and what we’re able to do.

Orlando Magic returned to the Playoffs after a three-year absence, and almost reaching the Eastern Conference semifinals shows they are on the right track with a very talented group of guys.
