Nikola Jokic’s older brother Strahinja Jokic had to appear before a court to face a misdemeanor assault charge according to the Denver Post.
The charge comes as a result of an incident that took place during a home game of the Denver Nuggets against the Los Angeles Lakers in April. Strahinja Jokic appears to punch a fan in the face after exchanging some words with him.
A video of the incident appeared on social media right after the game but the fan didn’t want to press charges initially, the Denver Post says. The victim suffered a concussion and cuts and bruises.
Strahinja Jokic was charged with a third-degree assault in July. He pleaded his case by saying to police that he acted that way to defend an older man he knew.
