After an early exit on NBA Sundays, Turkish Alperen Sengun is in danger of missing the 2025 NBA All-Star Game.
The 22-year-old center did not return after falling to the floor and reporting discomfort to the medical staff, early in the first quarter. He had three rebounds over three minutes. Overcoming the setback, the Houston Rockets rallied in the fourth quarter to snap a six-game losing streak in the 2024-25 Regular Season by taking down the Toronto Raptors, 94-87, in Toyota Center. For the team coached by Serbian Darko Rajakovic, Austrian Jakob Poeltl (right hip pointer) remained sidelined.
In the debut of Dennis Schroder, the Detroit Pistons nearly dropped a 28-point lead but survived and prevailed, 112-102, over the Charlotte Hornets in Little Caesars Arena. Off the bench, the 31-year-old German guard lasted 14 minutes and paired five points with three assists. Another reserve from Europe, Italian Simone Fontecchio put in three rebounds, one assist, and one steal.
Bosnian Jusuf Nurkic, a recent addition to the Hornets, did not play, while French Moussa Diabate exited with a right eye injury after scoring five points over seven minutes, a few hours after being upgraded from a two-way player to a multi-year standard contract. Fellow French import Tidjane Salaun went for eight points, seven rebounds, and four assists.
Without Giannis Antetokounmpo (left calf strain), the Milwaukee Bucks beat the Philadelphia 76ers, 135-127, in Fiserv Forum. On the losing end, French Guerschon Yabusele, dealing with right knee soreness, registered 18 points with 7/10 field goals, two rebounds, one steal, and one assist. Turkish Adem Bona did not play.
