New Orleans Pelicans star Zion Williams is facing rape and physical abuse accusations by a former girlfriend according to Daily Mail.
The Daily Mail reports that they have obtained a lawsuit by a “Jane Doe” who says that she’s Williamson’s former girlfriend. The lawsuit is reported to mention two rape allegations along with accusation for continuous “abusive, controlling and threatening behavior toward Plaintiff.”
The person who filed the lawsuit says that she and Williamson started dating while he was still a college player with Duke in 2018 and were still a pair for the next five years, until 2023. She claims that Williamson abused her “sexually, physically, emotionally and financially” that he would “choke or smother her” which resulted into her being afraid for her life.
Among the other charges, Williamson is also accused of threatening her life and the lives of family members.
The attorney representing Jane Doe is Sam Taylor from Lanier Law Firm. In a statement to the Daily Mail, he mentioned that, “We and our client do not want to litigate this case in the press. ‘However, I will say this is a very serious case as reflected in the Complaint filed in Los Angeles County. Our client looks forward to her day in court before a jury of her peers to obtain justice in this matter.”
Williamson, the former No. 1 Draft pick of 2019, completed his fifth year with the Pelicans in 2024-25.
