Former NBA and European basketball guard Ben McLemore was sentenced to 100 months in prison after he was found guilty of rape and sexual assault charges, ESPN reports.
McLemore had been charged of raping and sexually assaulting a 21-year-old woman during a party that took place in Robert Covington, then a teammate of McLemore at the Portland Trail Blazers, in 2021.
The full verdict is that McLemore was found guilty of “one charge of first-degree rape, one charge of first-degree unlawful sexual penetration and one cound of second-degree sexual abuse”
Following a report of sexual assault in 2021, an investigation began on the alleged charges against McLemore. An arrest warrant was issued in February 2024 and McLemore was arrested two months later.
A nine-year NBA veteran, McLemore also had stints in Europe with AEK Athens in Greece, Rio Breogan in Spain and Merkezefendi in Turkey.
