Alex Sarr sets a new record with eight blocks

Alex Sarr had a Summer League-record eight blocks, combined with a 16-point, 12-rebound double-double as the Washington Wizards defeated the Brooklyn Nets, 102-96, in Thomas & Mack Center.

“I think we came out with the right mentality in the second game,” the 20-year-old French center described how his side improved to 1-1 in the NBA 2K26 Summer League, “I think we did a good job throughout the whole game of playing four quarters and I’m happy we won.”

The Bordeaux native was drafted by the Wizards with the second overall pick of the 2024 draft. He went on to average 13.0 points per contest over 67 appearances in the 2024-25 Regular Season.

On the wrong end of the Summer League fixture, Drew Timme scored 30 points. Russian Egor Demin finished with 12 points, French Nolan Traore and Israeli Ben Saraf tallied seven points each, and Israeli Danny Wolf paired five points with ten rebounds.

With Olympiacos head coach Giorgos Bartzokas in attendance, Serbian Nikola Djurisic put in 16 points as the Atlanta Hawks beat the Phoenix Suns, 98-80, in Pavilion.

Germans Tristan da Silva and Ariel Hukporti, French Noah Penda and Leopold Delaunay, Swedish Pelle Larsson and Bobi Klintman, Lithuanian Kasparas Jakucionis, Serbian Bogoljub Markovic, Swiss Yanic Nierderhauser, and Slovenian Luka Scuka were among other European players in action on Sunday.

In a setback, French Pacome Dadiet was forced to an early exit for the New York Knicks due to left foot soreness.
