The Greek superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo had a summer to remember, winning the bronze medal at the 2025 EuroBasket with the national team.

He initially missed the Milwaukee Bucks’ media day after contracting COVID but eventually made his way to the U.S. to begin preseason preparations in Miami.

As reported by Eric Nehm, Antetokounmpo practiced today with the Bucks in Florida. Head coach Doc Rivers provided an update on his status, explaining that Giannis only participated in non-contact work and will likely need around three days before returning fully to the floor.

Obviously, I think it took a toll on my body,” Antetokounmpo said following Saturday’s practice, per Athletic. “I’m not feeling 100 percent yet, physically. Just take it day by day. Get back in shape. I was able to do some 5-on-0. Run up and down a little bit. Tomorrow, a little better. I got 18 days until the first game, so I think I’ll be fine.”

Last season, Antetokounmpo averaged 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds, and 6.5 assists across 67 NBA regular-season appearances.
