A developing roster situation at the New York Knicks has made Pacome Dadiet a trade candidate, as detailed by The Stein Line on Sunday.

The 20-year-old French winger started the first NBA Preseason 2025 showing in Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Arena and was reduced to a reserve role in the second straight meeting with the Philadelphia 76ers. In a combined total of 24 minutes, he tallied four points, three rebounds, and one assist. In his rookie campaign, after being selected with the 25th overall pick of the 2024 NBA Draft presented by State Farm, he had 1.2 points, 0.9 rebounds, 0.3 assists, 0.2 steals, and 0.1 blocks per contest over 20 appearances.

From competing for a larger role in his sophomore journey, Dadiet is expected to be moved before the start of the 2025-26 Regular Season, since the Knicks prefer to retain Malcolm Brogdon and Landry Shamet. The 32-year-old and 28-year-old guards have been signed to Exhibit 9 contracts, namely one-year non-guaranteed deals used by teams during training camp. In order to keep both on the roster for head coach Mike Brown, alongside fellow guard Garrison Mathews, one contract must be removed before shaping the opening night roster.

A trade involving Dadiet is reportedly the most likely scenario.

Before moving his talents to the Knicks, he played in the BKT EuroCup and Germany’s easyCredit BBL with ratiopharm Ulm from early 2023 until the end of the 2023-24 season, following opening his professional career with Paris in 2021.
