Killian Hayes played six games for the Brooklyn Nets last season, spending most of his time in the G League.
This summer, he signed an Exhibit 10 deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers, but the Ohio team has decided to waive him before the start of the season.
According to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, the French guard does not plan to leave the United States and is expected to join Cleveland’s G League affiliate, the Cleveland Charge.
The former No. 7 draft pick is reportedly hoping for another NBA opportunity after averaging nine points and 5.2 assists in six appearances with the Nets last season.
A 2020 first-round pick by Detroit, Hayes spent four seasons with the Pistons before joining the Nets. The 24-year-old Frenchman has yet to secure a consistent NBA role, shooting just 28.1% from three-point range over 216 career games.
