Toumani Camara has agreed to a four-year, $82 million contract extension with the Portland Trail Blazers, as reported by ESPN senior NBA insider Shams Charania on Sunday.
The involved parties were negotiating through the offseason and reached a deal, slightly below the maximum extension of $87 million.
After two NBA campaigns with the Blazers, the 25-year-old Belgian forward has now committed until the end of the 2029-30 season. A veteran of 147 appearances, he went for 11.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.5 steals per contest in his 2024-25 journey. He emerged as a solid two-way player, earning praise especially for his defensive efforts, which led him to the NBA All-Defensive Second Team.
The Brussels native was selected with the 52nd overall pick of the 2023 draft, coming out of four NCAA seasons split between Dayton and Georgia. Back in 2016, he represented Belgium in the FIBA U16 European Championship Division B, but has yet to resurface in FIBA tournaments.
With enough space on the salary cap following Camara’s extension, the Blazers also reached a deal with Shaedon Sharpe on a four-year, $90 million contract extension. The 22-year-old Canadian guard was picked up with the seventh draft selection in 2022 and has since been featured in 184 Blazers games.
Earning a spot on the opening roster of the team coached by Chauncey Billups, 26-year-old Javonte Cooke is signing a two-way contract, added Charania.
The 2025-26 schedule tips off on Wednesday, with the Minnesota Timberwolves visiting Moda Center.
