Veteran guard Cameron Payne has decided to remain in the United States and wait for his next NBA opportunity, despite strong interest from Serbian powerhouse Partizan Belgrade, according to Marc Stein.
Payne, who recently participated in training camp with the Indiana Pacers, reportedly drew serious consideration from Partizan as the club explored options to strengthen its backcourt following the injury to Carlik Jones.
The 30-year-old brings notable NBA experience with teams such as the Phoenix Suns, Chicago Bulls, and Milwaukee Bucks, and is reportedly focused on staying ready for a potential call-up as the new NBA season unfolds.
Partizan, meanwhile, continue their search for a reinforcement at the guard position, after adding center Bruno Fernando from Real Madrid.
