With Nikola Jokic widely considered the most dominant force in the basketball world, former player Dirk Nowitzki shared his opinion on the Joker.

“He’s incredible. With the lack of athleticism, you really have to say that he’s maybe arguably the best player in the world. Just skill level out of this world. How he reads the game, his basketball IQ, it’s just incredible. And he’s just so big and overpowering with little guys,” said the 47-year-old German former player in a recent appearance on Haymaker Network.

“With me, you could always get away with guarding me with little guys. And I had problems fighting them, getting down in the post, but he is just so big that you cannot guard him with little guys. He just makes it impossible. And he’s so good as a rebounder, too. And with the big guys, he just draws them out. You can post them, you can draw them out, run the pick-and-roll. He’s got the three-point shot now. But what impresses me is how he reads the game, and the passing is just next level. So I’ve always been a fan, obviously, of his game, how he plays the game,” added Nowitzki.

Over 12 appearances in the 2025-26 NBA Regular Season, the 30-year-old Serbian center has tallied 28.7 points, 13.0 rebounds, 10.9 assists, 1.8 steals, and 0.8 blocks per contest, including seven triple-doubles.

Dealing with a left wrist sprain, Jokic has been listed as probable to play against the Chicago Bulls in Ball Arena on Monday.
