After missing the previous game in the 2025-26 NBA Regular Season, Victor Wembanyama will remain sidelined due to a left calf strain.

The San Antonio Spurs updated the injury status of the 21-year-old French center on Monday.

Per the press release: “The San Antonio Spurs today announced that Victor Wembanyama underwent an MRI that revealed he has a left calf strain. The injury occurred in Friday night’s game against the Golden State Warriors. The team will provide updates as appropriate.”

According to multiple ensuing reports, Wemby is expected to miss two to three more weeks. In any case, the Spurs are widely considered far from intending to rush him back.

Before being ruled out for Sunday’s home game against the Sacramento Kings due to left calf tightness, he logged 12 appearances, averaging 26.2 points, 12.9 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 3.6 blocks, and 1.1 steals per contest. The setback pauses a convincing return to action, following the premature end to his 2024-25 journey due to deep vein thrombosis in his right shoulder, and is also likely to slow down the Spurs.

Moving forward without Wembanyama for several team outings, the team coached by Mitch Johnson is set to complete a five-game homestand with the Memphis Grizzlies and Atlanta Hawks in Frost Bank Center on Tuesday and Thursday. The following four games until the end of November are on the road.

At 9-4, the Spurs currently rank fifth in the Western Conference standings, 4.5 games away from the leading Oklahoma City Thunder.
