Knicks and Magic move to NBA Cup semifinals

Last night’s NBA action featured the first two NBA Cup quarterfinal games, with the Orlando Magic and New York Knicks advancing to the semifinals.

Orlando defeated Miami 117–108 in the Florida clash, despite the Heat opening the game with a 15–0 run.

Desmond Bane led the way with 37 points, while Paolo Banchero added 18 points and seven rebounds. Tristan da Silva contributed 11 points and seven rebounds, and Goga Bitadze chipped in seven points and six boards.

The New York Knicks moved on with a 117–101 road win over the Toronto Raptors, powered by Jalen Brunson’s 35-point performance.

OG Anunoby finished with 13 points and six rebounds for the Knicks, while Mohamed Diawara, Tosan Evbuomwan, Ariel Hukporti, and Guerschon Yabusele all saw action but went scoreless.

For Toronto, Jakob Poeltl came close to a double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds, while Sandro Mamukelashvili added two points and two boards.
