Atlanta Hawks center/forward Kristaps Porzingis will be sidelined for at least the next two weeks as he undergoes further medical evaluations, Shams Charania announced.

The absence comes as both the team and Porzingis emphasize a cautious, long-term approach to his health and availability for the remainder of the season.

Porzingis has missed seven of the Hawks’ last eight games due to illness, and the latest update formalizes an extended recovery timeline. Team officials and medical staff are opting against a rushed return, focusing instead on ensuring the 7-foot-3 big man is fully stabilized before resuming play.

Last season, while with the Boston Celtics, Porzingis was diagnosed with postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), an autonomic nervous system condition that can affect heart rate and blood pressure.

Over the offseason, Porzingis worked closely with doctors to develop effective management strategies and entered the current season in strong condition. However, a recent bout of illness has complicated that progress, prompting renewed evaluation and a temporary shutdown.

The Hawks are expected to provide further updates as Porzingis continues testing and treatment, with his long-term health remaining the organization’s top priority.
