NBA results and standings: Markkanen saves the Jazz, Jovic gets injured

Cooper Flag made history, but it was not enough.

Keyonte George scored 37 points, and Finland’s pride Lauri Markkanen added 33 to lift the Utah Jazz to a 140-133 overtime win against the Dallas Mavericks.

Flagg became the first 18-year-old in league history to score 40+ points, finishing the night with 42.

The Toronto Raptors beat the Heat 106-96, and the really bad news for Miami came from Serb forward Nikola Jovic, who walked off the court with a splint-like device over his right elbow after he took a hard foul in the first quarter.

There’s no timetable yet announced for his return, while coach Darko Rajakovic’s Toronto remains among the top teams in the East.
